there is a wonderful article on eric aho in this month's issue of southern vermont arts & living magazine. a frenzy of color, shape, and gesture written by arlene distler gives an excellent glimpse not only into the studio of eric aho but into his mind set as an artist and his motivation behind each series of paintings. eric has always painted amazing paintings that hidell brooks has had the pleasure of viewing in a front row seat. the paintings currently coming out of his vermont studio are pure bliss.

collectors often have a hard time when an artists work changes direction. eric aho is a landscape painter and still is but over the last few years his paintings have loosen up immensely. brush strokes have scattered and exploded from their constraints. eric has made this transformation within his paintings so fluid it has been a natural path to follow. the fundamental landscape is still there it is just hidden beneath the exploration of the artist's brush.
