hidell brooks gallery had the honor of hosting an event for the juvenile diabetes research fund last weekend with new orleans photographer robert x .fogarty on hand to take portraits of individuals living with diabetes. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.
robert x. fogarty's style of mixing written words on the skin and portraiture is a very powerful way to get a message across. he recently just returned from jordan spending time photographing syrian refugees. robert's project dear world is part business/art project/social experiment all by asking subjects to share one meaningful message with family, friends and strangers. the photos speak for themselves literally. we were very touched by the experience and the gallery had a wonderful energy of hope and determination.
