art as a gift is something to be remembered and treasured. there is always a story attached to the artwork. who gave it to you and why will be a part of the history of the work which will travel along with the piece even after it changes hands. we have always been fascinated with provenance, a record of ownership of the work of art used as a guide to authenticity, ever since we learned it’s meaning in art school. as a gallery we receive all our work straight from the artist’s studio so we are at the beginning of the timeline. giving a gift of art starts a story which will be remembered long after we are gone. that is a beautiful gift.
