hidell brooks is incredibly excited to open storyboard new paintings + works on paper by atlanta artist sally king benedict. the opening reception is friday, october 4th from 6-8 pm and sally will be at the opening. this is the artist’s 4th solo exhibition with hidell brooks and her largest exhibition to date with over 18 recent paintings. the large scale paintings depict an imaginary narrative between mother and child. the bold palette explodes off the canvases and the paintings encircle the viewer completely while you are transported into a different world all together. sally’s distinctive palette has no boundaries and her skill with composition is far beyond her years. the movement created through her strong, confident brushstrokes radiates energy far further than the limits of the canvas. sally king benedict’s talent has no bounds.

sally king benedict is in her 12th year as a professional artist. she and her work have been featured in major publications including elle decor, architectural digest, domino, garden & gun, and southern living, among others. sally gains inspiration from daily life in her hometown of atlanta, georgia, where she lives with her husband and their 6 year old son. she started her career in charleston, south carolina, where she earned her ba in studio art from the college of charleston in 2007.
