so excited to see lizzie fortunato x sally king benedict in the fashion & style section of the new york times this past week. the girls collaborated together out of mutual admiration for each other's work to create a small collection of handbags designed by lizzie fortunato and printed with sally's artwork. the result is a match made in heaven and the perfect intersection of art + fashion. we are already toting our new friend around town
art meets leather goods
when the twin sisters lizzie and kathryn fortunato, the twosome behind the lizzie fortunato accessories label, were moving out of the apartment they shared, the one piece of art they fought over was a broad-stroke abstract face portrait by the atlanta artist sally king benedict. as luck would have it, ms. benedict fancied the sisters’ jewelry and leather goods, and from that mutual appreciation has come a collection of handbags printed with ms. benedict’s artwork. now, with styles like a tote bearing one of the face paintings and this palm-tree bucket bag, the girls won’t have to fight.
