december has arrived and after a gorgeous warm thanksgivng in north carolina we are very merry! the holiday season has our artists and the gallery buzzing. selena beaudry is busy in her london studio putting the finishing touches on her march solo exhibition at hidell brooks plus working on a few commissions for a couple of lucky collectors.
we are awaiting the christmas week arrival of ruth ava lyon's january solo exhibition just in time for a new years eve install at the gallery. in the meantime her painting wildfire inspired acclaimed north carolina dancer/choreographer sarah emery to create a dance reverie to be performed at the duke energy theatre by open door studios on december 12th. ruth ava will be performing after with her flow1212 hoop troupe at the twirl to the world fundraiser. she can blow your mind with a hola hoop!
very cool photo booth at the portland art museum recreating one of gallery artist katherine ace's paintings. katherine and her daughter poised in the booth together. you should recognize the hands for her daughter was the model for the figure on the right in the painting.
